    Very early Polk Directory, I believe the
    first
    Polk Directory of Everett ever done was in 1894/1895 (which I also have up for sale right now) . . .
    This is the SECOND one done.
    As stated in the directory in the
    Preface
    :
    “In presenting the Everett City Directory to the public, the publishers desire to review the conditions that have existed since the last work of this kind was issued, viz:
    1894-95.
    The period covers five years, and the conditions varying and chaotic.
    The first Directory was published during the “boom days,” the present, under entirely different circumstances . . .”
    “With all the setbacks of “booming,” Everett has more than held her own with other cities of the state.
    The gain in population is about 3,000. . .
    “The Everett City Directory for 19+00 contains 2721 names, Lowell 291 . . . using 3 as a multiple would give the entire peninsula a population of 9036 . . .”
