1932 WOMEN'S PATRIOTIC NATIONAL DEFENSE CONFERENCE WASH., D. C. PINBACK RIBBON

Description

This is an original pinback silk ribbon with the wording: "Delegate Seventh Women's Patriotic Conference on National Defense Washington, D. C. February, 1-2-3 1932". The ribbon has the word "Delegate" & the ribbon mentions that this was for the "Seventh Conference". So, apparently, this Women's group was formed in 1925. This pinback ribbon was issued for the conference which was held in Washington, D. C. for three days in 1932 & is a "Delegate" badge which would have been worn by a delegate to the conference.
The back of the ribbon suspension retains the original thick paper insert with the maker's name & info which is: "H. L Wohlfarth Brentwood, Maryland Banners--Badges--Lodge Supplies Phone or Mail Your Orders". The badge measures 5 inches long by 2 1/16 inches wide. The incised gold colored lettering lettering on the ribbon has some even natural age toning. The fringe at the bottom left corner of the ribbon has lost a small piece.
PLEASE NOTE: the tiny thin fragment of the ribbon projecting at the bottom left corner of the ribbon which measures 9/16" by 1/32" has broken off since we took the scans. The piece is present & could be reattached with a tiny speck of glue, if desired. But, we will leave that option up to the buyer. Otherwise, this scarce item is in very good all original condition.
This ribbon has never been cleaned or tampered with in any way. The original pin is still present on the back. This pinback silk ribbon is exactly like we recently found it fresh out of a Lancaster County, Pa. estate.
