    Description

    Pair of vintage Persian/Iranian copper plates. Hand-tooled repousse. Both have hangers on back for wall mounting. Beautiful lot. Includes:
    * 9.5” diameter plate called the Battle of Shahriar & Lion. It shows an Achaemenid king fighting a winged-lion or Griffin. Also know as the Battle of Good & Evil.
    * 11.5 diameter plate depicting an Achaemenid king - possibly Xerxes - sitting on a throne.
    Both are in good condition. They have not been cleaned.
