Antique Middle Eastern Pierced Brass Lamp Crescent Moon & Star Finial with Awesome Camel Base 17" Tall X 11" Wide
Unique. Interesting. This Middle-Eastern lamp dates to the early 1900's. The shade is pierced creating interesting patterns of light. The lamp is untested, there's one wire pulled loose at the plug but for its age, other than a little sheathing wear the wire looks fairly good other than that, although, I'm not an electrician so that will be up to the buyer...or just display it as is, as great old antique middle eastern art
The finial is a star within a crescent moon. The star within a crescent moon was the symbol of the Ottoman Empire, and is still used by the Republic of Turkey. In the mid-20th century it became a popular symbol of Islam. Other countries which were part of the Ottoman Empire also used the symbol, including Libya, Tunisia and Algeria. The same symbol was used in other national flags introduced during the 20th century.
Original surface,  Crescent shaped shade.  Fringe could be added to the shade if desired.
In rare untouched original condition.  This is very very nice!
