    Description

    This early hand stamped framing square is made from laminated steel and has a healthy taper to it, going to date pre-civil war for sure and very likely a bit earlier. It is very hard to see under the dark patina but right above the .00 mark is the HAWES PATENT mark. Has a couple tags from previous auctions and collectors. You can see some flaws in the lamination, hard to find these old hand crafted measuring tools, get one while you can.
