RATS GEN 2 Rapid Application Tourniquet System
The Rapid Application Tourniquet System is the fastest tourniquet on the market and is used to stop massive hemorrhaging due to trauma. The R.A.T.S. uses a solid elastic core of proprietary material with a polyester sheath, combined with a patented locking mechanism to make an incredibly fast tourniquet to apply to self or others. No other tourniquet compares to the R.A.T.S. when being used under stress in terms of time or ease of use.Generation 2 Features:NEW: 6 Inches Longer!The inner core of the strap does have some latex. The core however, is made of a vulcanized rubber with a high silicone content. Chance of latex reaction is considered the same as if exposed to a automobile tire. Core is completely wrapped in a protective polyester sheath, which acts to shield the inner core from direct contact with the skin. The R.A.T.S. Tourniquet should be kept in the plastic packaging until use. The device should be properly disposed of after use. Inspection of the device should take place before use. Inspection should consist of looking for any fraying of the sheath, cracks in the metal cleat, or any other deformities of the device that could compromise the tourniquet.
