Vintage Sumak Embroidered Wool Kilim - Moroccan Turkish Tribal Textile - Hanging

Description

This is an unusual Turkish or Berber textile from about the mid-20th century. It's all natural and all hand made with traditional, old world quality. The kilim base is loomed of tightly twisted (hand spun) strands of black and grey wool, and the top and bottom ends of the weaving are finished with an unusual braided technique.
The colors and design are hand embroidered onto the kilim and everything is in excellent condition except for a break in one line of chain stitch embroidery. (shown)
This is heavy enough to use as a rug, but it's clean, odorless, and appears to have never been used.
